Naturalist and author Brian Parkinson follows the main highways and back country roads, stopping off at New Zealand’s most spectacular locations.

The country’s isolation for millions of years means its flora and fauna are unique. Renowned naturalist, author and former broadcaster, Brian Parkinson is the author of many books including Field Guide to New Zealand Seabirds and The Photographic Guide to Insects of New Zealand. Over a remarkable career Parkinson has discovered over 30 species around the world – quite a few named in his honour. Brought up in the Bay of Plenty, Parkinson now lines in Auckland and has toued New Zealand extensively.
